Dan Smith

[dropcap2]O[/dropcap2]wner Dan’s interest in music and audio equipment began in his childhood. His first system with a first generation top-load CD player, a Sony Bio-tracer turntable on JBL “Bookshelf” speakers was purchased at Sound Ideas. Sound Ideas was one of Cary’s audio shops and was located in South Hills Plaza – just two doors down from where the Intelligent Electronics’ showroom is now located.

Dan has been living in Cary since 1977 and has been an active part of the community since that time. In fact, he delivered papers to the same shopping center where his store is located. He graduated from Cary High and was a Statistics major at NCSU. His interests including cooking, roasting his own coffee, collecting antique radios and phonographs and working on his project car. He and his family are active members of Hope Community Church.

Ed Taggart

Ed Taggert Intelligent Electronics Lead Installer[dropcap2]S[/dropcap2]ystem Designer Ed has been working in the Audio Video industry since the late ’90s. Ed began in sales with Circuit City in the DC area and built a technical base working with Jefferson Pilot sports, ESPN, and Satellite Media Productions before moving to NC in 2002. While studying mass media communications at NC State University, he went back to sales at Best Buy. Before joining Intelligent Electronics in 2005, Ed custom designed and built systems for police cars for the Wake County Sheriff’s Department. Ed began his career at Intelligent Electronics as an installation specialist and quickly moved to Lead Installer. He now serves as System Designer, specializing in custom remote control design and set up, in addition to his role as lead installer.
